Los Angeles running back Kyren Williams scored two touchdowns in the first half, as the Rams are tied with the San Francisco 49ers 17-17 at halftime Sunday at SoFi Stadium.

The Rams countered the 49ers' opening-drive score with an eight-play, 60-yard drive of their own.

A 20-yard gashing reception from wide receiver Puka Nacua helped set up Los Angeles in San Francisco territory. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford connected with running back Kyren Williams twice — one for a 6-yard second-effort catch and the other for a 10-yard touchdown set up by great blocking from center Coleman Shelton and guard Steve Avila.

Late in the half, Stafford and Williams split the wealth. Stafford completed four passes to set the Rams up at the 49ers 23-yard line, and four carries later, Williams sealed the drive with a 4-yard score which gave Los Angeles its first lead of the game 17-10.

Williams ran for 38 yards in the first half, replacing Cam Akers who was deemed a healthy scratch Sunday with reports he was officially on the trading block.

49ers quarterback Brock Purdy successfully ran a quarterback sneak on fourth-and-goal as time expired in the first half. Purdy was 11-for-15 with 121 yards in the first half.

The 49ers set the tone to begin the game, driving 75 yards on 11 plays. Purdy was 6-for-6 for 49 yards on the opening drive, but running back Christian McCaffrey powered forward through Rams defenders for a 14-yard touchdown run to open the scoring 7-0.

McCaffrey had 88 rushing and 18 receiving yards with a touchdown on the ground.

Stafford was 14-for-18 with 143 yards and one touchdown in the first half. Nacua hauled in seven of those passes for 66 yards and Atwell had six receptions for 55 yards.
