Should Rams Sign Ravens Free Agent Edge Rusher Jadeveon Clowney?
The Los Angeles Rams have been keeping tabs on a lot of the top free-agent rushers, but many of them have been picked up by other teams.
The likes of Chase Young, Brian Burns, and Josh Allen have been signed to a team, among others. Now that those guys are off of the table, the Rams could start to look more at a veteran like Baltimore Ravens free agent Jadeveon Clowney.
Clowney has been passed around a fair amount, as he has played for five different teams in the last six seasons. But despite his advancing age, he had one of it not his best statistical season this past year.
He finished with 43 total tackles and tied his career-high for sacks that he set back in 2017 with 9.5. Even though Clowney is 31 years old, this is the highest his value has been since he was coming into the league as the best defensive player in the draft.
Could Rams Draft Jer'Zhan Newton to Fill Aaron Donald Void?
If the Rams were to sign Clowney in free agency, then it would add a veteran presence to a defense that just lost Aaron Donald, a player who has been consistently dominant for the last decade.
Whether the team decides to sign a free agent like Clowney or take some help in the upcoming NFL Draft, the defensive line is a part of the team that needs to be addressed if they want to be able to contend this season.
