Former Los Angeles Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner is returning to the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year deal, according to reports.

According to multiple reports, former Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner is signing a deal to return to the Seattle Seahawks.

Seahawks defensive back Quandre Diggs was the first to report the deal, with NFL insiders confirming the signing soon after.

"According to my sources future hall of fame LB Bobby Wagner has agreed to terms to return home to the Seattle Seahawks," Diggs tweeted. "Seahawks fill a huge need in the middle of their defense! 12s rejoice!"

The deal, which is set for one year and $7 million, comes just weeks after the Rams and Wagner mutually agreed to part ways, making the veteran a free agent for the second offseason in a row.

After parting ways with Wagner, Rams head coach Sean McVay released a statement thanking him for his time in LA.

“Bobby is an outstanding competitor and a leader that elevates everyone around him,” McVay said. “His perspective, steadiness, and consistency set an example for our players, coaches and staff. We are grateful for Bobby and his contributions to our organization during his time with the Rams.”

Wagner, 32, departed the Rams after signing a five-year, $50 million deal last offseason following his long tenure with the Seahawks. He signed with Los Angeles expecting to contend for his second Super Bowl ring, but injuries derailed LA's season before it began, as the team finished with a 5-12 record.

Wagner was one of the only stars who was healthy for LA all season long. He played in all 17 games, finishing with 140 total tackles, two interceptions, five passes defended, and one blocked kick.

He also totaled six sacks after having just eight in the previous four seasons combined.

At the end of the season, Wagner was named the Rams’ MVP and received the Daniel F. Reeves Memorial Award.

Once the release is official, which according to our friends at Rams Wire could be either in June or this month, Wagner will look to join a contender in free agency this offseason, as he suddenly finds himself in a similar situation to last year.
