Rams' Jeremy Springer Hired as Patriots Special Teams Coach

The Los Angeles Rams lost another assistant coach on Wednesday morning, per reports.

The Los Angeles Rams have lost yet another assistant coach this offseason as assistant special teams coach Jeremy Springer has been hired to be the special teams coach for the New England Patriots, per reports.

Ian Rapoport first reported the news on Wednesday morning. Springer has been the Rams' assistant special teams coach for two seasons, but he now joins a new-look Patriots staff led by recently-hired head coach Jerod Mayo.

Prior to joining the staff in Los Angeles, Springer spent time in the collegiate ranks coaching with UTEP, Texas A&M, Arizona and Marshall. The Rams are still holding onto their head special teams coach in Chase Blackburn, but they will be in the market for yet another assistant to replace the departing Springer.

Other Rams assistant coaches who have departed for greener pastures this offseason include defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, defensive line coach Eric Henderson, assistant head coach Jimmy Lake, and quarterbacks coach Zac Robinson. Morris was among the more notable of these departures as he secured the head coaching position with the Atlanta Falcons, his second full-time head coaching position in his NFL career.

Rams tight ends coach Nick Caley has also reportedly interviewed in New England for the offensive coordinator position.
