Jimmy Garoppolo Praises 'All-World' Rams Star Aaron Donald

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo gushed over the talents of Rams star defensive lineman Aaron Donald on Thursday

It is no secret that Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald is one of, if not the best defensive player the NFL has seen over the last decade.

And there are few players who have seen the talent and skill that Donald brings to the table more than former 49ers and current Raiders quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, who has faced the future hall-of-famer eight times in his career.

“AD, he’s a special talent, man,” Said Garoppolo after the Rams' joint practice with the Raiders on Thursday. "Going against him twice a year these last couple of years, I’ve seen it firsthand. We had to plan for him. The dude is all-world man, he really is. He doesn’t get enough credit for it, I think, but a hell of a player.”

Donald, however, still feels as though he can get better, which, if true, is a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.

After all, in his career, Donald has not only been a dominant disrupter in the middle of the Rams defensive line, but he as accumulated 490 tackles and 103 sacks in his nine-year career.

But despite those accolades, Donald is still trying to find ways to improve.

“Always, I feel like I’m not where I want to be," Donald said. "But I feel like I’m getting better, obviously. Personally, I didn’t think I had the type of practice that I wanted to, so I've just got to watch the film and see what I did wrong, or see what I need to do better. I’m always my worst critic. Just got to continue to study, continue trying to find ways to be better.”

The Rams' next preseason outing will come on Saturday against Garoppolo and the Raiders.

But in all likelihood, Donald will be limited through the Rams' remaining preseason slate, while he prepares for the Regular season.

Once Week 1 comes around though, he will be aiming for a big bounce-back year, after what was - at least by his standards, and subpar 2022.
