Rams' Leonard Floyd Trade Partners? Three Potential Suitors

The Los Angeles Rams are looking to get rid of Leonard Floyd, which teams could make the most sense as trade partners?
In this story:

The Los Angeles Rams are kicking off their rebuild this offseason, having already come to terms with a "mutual parting of ways" with inside linebacker Bobby Wagner.

They are now looking to trade away key other pieces, cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Leonard Floyd, the outside linebacker, according to a report by Adam Schefter on Monday.

Floyd, the former Georgia Bulldog, has emerged as one of the NFL's top pass rushers, racking up at least nine sacks in his three seasons in Los Angeles.

Since signing with the Rams after being released from the Bears in 2020, Floyd has accumulated 29 sacks, and 59 quarterback hits, proving to be an effective pass-rusher, which may garner a market for him if the Rams are insistent on trading him rather than releasing him.

Who are some of the potential trade partners?

Atlanta Falcons

Getting after the quarterback was a struggle for the Atlanta Falcons last season, finishing second to last in sacks with 21. The Falcons could be an intriguing trade partner with a projected $56 million in cap space and some draft capital.

Dallas Cowboys

Acquiring another specialized pass rusher could be one of the missing pieces for a Dallas Cowboys defense near the top of the league in sacks. However, despite already having Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence, the Cowboys still could use a third option to draw some attention from opposing offenses.

Baltimore Ravens

Possibly the best fit of the three teams in this list would be the Baltimore Ravens for Leonard Floyd. The Ravens' defense runs a similar system schematically speaking to the Rams, employing outside linebacker/edge rushing hybrids.

Floyd presents a younger option with Justin Pierre-Paul and Justin Houston, aging veterans looking set to hit free agency this offseason.
