Rams Seeking Trade of OLB Leonard Floyd

The Los Angeles Rams are making some sweeping changes on both sides of the ball

The Los Angeles Rams are going to look much different in 2023

According to reports on Monday, the Rams are seeking to move on from outside linebacker Leonard Floyd, and are currently seeking a trade of the veteran.

However, should the Rams be unable to find a trade partner, they are expected to release Floyd.

Should the Rams release Floyd, it would likely be with a post-June 1 designation, which would allow them to create $15.5 million in cap space, and reduce the 'dead money' hit to just $6.5 million.

That cap hit could be spread over two seasons.

If the Rams were to release Floyd before June 1, it would leave $19 million in 'dead money', and create just $3 million in cap space.

In three seasons with the Rams, Floyd has never missed a game, racking up 184 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 59 quarterback hits, and 29 sacks over that time.

Floyd now becomes just the latest Rams veteran defender to be heading toward an exit, with linebacker Bobby Wagner already on his way out after being released, and star corner Jalen Ramsey being heavily rumored in a trade.

The Rams have also granted veteran wideout Allen Robinson permission to seek a trade, after an underwhelming debut season with the team.
