Former Rams OL David Edwards Signs With Bills
It has been far from an uneventful start to free agency for the Los Angeles Rams, however likely not in the way they would have hoped. Rather than bolstering the roster with savvy signings, they are seeing an exodus of players.
The release of Bobby Wagner was the first domino to fall, and eventually, the trade of Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins was the crescendo. While those two names received the headlines, losing guys like Nick Scott and David Long Jr. will hurt.
On Thursday, though, the Rams took another hit in free agency when it was announced that the Buffalo Bills were signing offensive lineman David Edwards to a one-year deal.
The offensive line was an area of trouble for the Rams last season, as the unit struggled to stay healthy. Edwards was no exception to that as he only appeared in a career-low four games after being shut down for the season.
Before that, though, Edwards was a staple of consistency on the offensive line for the Rams with 54 appearances and 46 starts in four seasons after being selected in the fifth round of the 2019 draft out of Wisconsin.
Now, the Rams will look to fill another hole created via free agency with the possibility of an offensive lineman at pick No. 36 increasing.
Until then, though, they will look to stop the bleeding in free agency and retool the roster ahead of next season.
