Los Angeles Rams' Playoff Tiebreakers, Scenarios Following Week 14
The Los Angeles Rams suffered a heartbreaking 37-31 overtime loss on the road to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, putting a damper on their push to earn a playoff berth in the NFC.
Following the Week 14 action in the NFL, the Rams are now the first team out in the playoff hunt, if the season ended today, coming in at No. 8 in the NFC's pecking order, directly behind the Green Bay Packers.
Although L.A. and Green Bay hold the same record at 6-7, the Packers hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Rams thanks to a win earlier in the season. Los Angeles, however, holds the conference record tiebreaker over the Atlanta Falcons and the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Seattle Seahawks.
The division leader in the NFC West is the San Francisco 49ers, who currently hold the No. 1 seed in the conference and are the only team in the NFL to have already clinched a playoff berth. You can view the current top seven seeds in the NFC below.
1. San Francisco 49ers (10-3)
2. Dallas Cowboys (10-3)
3. Detroit Lions (9-4)
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7)
5. Philadelphia Eagles (10-3)
6. Minnesota Vikings (7-6)
7. Green Bay Packers (6-7)
How Were Rams' Playoff Odds Affected By Loss to Baltimore?
The Rams have multiple opportunities to improve their standing in the NFC playoff race in the final four weeks of the regular season. Los Angeles will host the Washington Commanders this week before welcoming the New Orleans Saints to SoFi Stadium in Week 16. The Rams then wrap things up with road trips against the New York Giants and a massive game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18.
Kickoff on Sunday between the Rams and Commanders is set for 1:05 p.m. PT, and the game will be televised on CBS.
