WATCH: Pat McAfee Gets Rams Star Puka Nacua Into NBA Celebrity All-Star Game
Puka Nacua did it all for the Los Angeles Rams this past season, and this weekend he will continue to add to his already impressive resume.
The NBA is having their annual All-Star break this upcoming weekend, and Nacua has been vocal about wanting to make an appearance in the Celebrity Game.
Former NFL punter and current ESPN radio personality Pat McAfee saw Nacua's plea while the receiver was on his show, and made it his mission to get the young star into the event.
"We need him in the celebrity game, and he wants to play in it," McAfee said on a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show. "People don't want to play in that game, and he wants to play in it, put him in there. C'mon ESPN, put him in there!"
McAfee then went on to call ESPN Senior Vice President Mike Foss and negotiate with him to get Nacua into the event. And without really any coercing at all, Foss just had two words to say: "He's in."
Where Do Rams Land in ESPN's Way-Too-Early Power Rankings?
Nacua played basketball at Orem High School in Utah as a point guard before his football-playing days. He scored 961 career points and also added 417 rebounds, 316 assists, and 155 steals during his four years on the team.
One of the most exciting parts about this is the fact that CJ Stroud is also playing in that game, so fans are going to get to see the winner of the Offensive Rookie of the Year award playing ball with whom many think was the runner-up.
