Los Angeles Rams P Riley Dixon Signs With Broncos
While the NFL offseason is often dominated by headlines revolving around big name stars, both in free agency and blockbuster trades, there are dozens of moves made that tend to fly under the radar.
The Los Angeles Rams, who have been no stranger to big moves this offseason, saw another player leave in free agency to sign elsewhere when it was reported that punter Riley Dixon would be signing with the Denver Broncos.
Dixon originally began his NFL career as a Bronco after being taken in the seventh round of the 2016 draft. He would spend two seasons in Denver before making his way to the Giants, and ultimately the Rams in 2022.
The Rams punted a lot last season as the offense struggled, with Dixon recording 71 attempts on a career-high average of 48.4 yards per punt.
This is the third special teams loss for the Rams in free agency, with kicker Matt Gay signing with the Colts on a record deal and long snapper Matthew Orzech departing for a three-year deal with the Packers.
Now, the Rams and new special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn must replace all three positions ahead of next season. Fortunately for the Rams, though, they should be able to find said replacements in the later rounds of the draft or via the signing of an undrafted free agent.
