Sean McVay: Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp Not 'Limited'
For the first time since going down with the hamstring injury that sidelined him, Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp was back on the practice field Wednesday as the team prepares for Sunday's game versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
"He's going to go through practice today," Rams coach Sean McVay said on Wednesday about Kupp's status. "We're going to see exactly what that looks like, but it says limited, he's not going to be limited. I was like Ron Burgundy, just reading off the injury report. So he's going through a normal practice. We'll see how he's feeling, and we'll progress him as the week goes."
The return to practice comes just after the Rams activated Kupp off the injured reserve, opening up the 21-day window, where he can either come off the injury list and play or go back on.
For the Rams, Kupp's return from injury couldn't come at a better time, as the team is right at .500 with a 2-2 record after getting a 29-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts in overtime.
It certainly isn't a bad start for a Rams team that underwent a lot of change in the offseason, as general manager Les Snead began his roster "remodeling" process, which saw many of the team's star players leave as L.A. opted to start building through the NFL Draft.
The complete 180 in terms of roster building helped see the Rams land standout rookie receiver Puka Nacua, who has essentially operated as their No. 1 playmaker in the absence of Kupp.
Through the first four games, the fifth-round rookie out of BYU has led the Rams in receiving with 501 yards and a touchdown on 39 receptions. While the return of Kupp will likely lead to fewer targets for Nacua, he could also benefit as defenses will focus on the veteran.
The Rams will host the Eagles on Sunday inside SoFi Stadium, where kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. (PT).
