ESPN WR Rankings: Where's Rams' Cooper Kupp?

Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp is among one of the best at his position.

In 2021, Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp arguably had the greatest season for a player at his position. He achieved the triple crown by leading the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947), and touchdown catches (16). He ultimately topped off his extraordinary season by winning Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl LVI MVP.

Due to missing eight games last season due to injury, Kupp's numbers experienced a decline. However, he still managed to record 75 catches for 812 yards. Despite the setback of an injury-shortened season, Kupp has maintained his position among the league's top receivers.

In a recent ESPN article that featured rankings from over 80 executives, coaches, and scouts, Kupp secured the No. 5 spot among the top 10 receivers. The article cited his remarkable ability to consistently show up in clutch moments as a key factor in his ranking.

"If I'm picking one receiver for one game, I might pick him. He's going to win the game for you," An AFC executive said to ESPN.

While some voters ranked Kupp as high as No. 1, others placed him outside of the top 10. In the previous year, Kupp was recognized as the second-best receiver in football, trailing only Davante Adams. This year, Justin Jefferson claimed the top spot, with Adams, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tyreek Hill following behind.

As Kupp aims to assist the Rams in rebounding from a disappointing 5-12 season, his contribution will be vital to the team's success. If the Rams' offense makes significant strides this year, it wouldn't be surprising to see Kupp ascend to one of the top three receivers in next year's rankings.
