Should Rams Trade For Chargers Star Edge Khalil Mack?

The Los Angeles Rams' defense has a lot of young talent that performed well last season, so could the team go get a veteran in the offseason to lead the defense?

The Los Angeles Rams' defense performed a lot better than people expected it to last season after losing big pieces such as Jalen Ramsey and Leonard Floyd.

A few of the team's young defensive players stepped up big this past season to lead the rest of the defense. But if the Rams went and got a veteran presence, their defense could improve even further as a result.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report, they outline trades that could form the next great defenses, and one of the deals looked at was Khalil Mack going from one Los Angeles team to the other.

The trade idea would have the Rams sending a third-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft for Mack. This could be an intriguing idea for the Rams, as it gives them a veteran presence on the defense besides Aaron Donald, as well as more quarterback pressure.

"Despite the overall youth on the Los Angeles Rams, they notched 10 wins and made the playoffs," Bleacher Report said. "The immediate impacts of rookie pass-rushers Byron Young and Kobie Turner played a key role in L.A.'s surprise ascent. But the Rams didn't have a whole lot of edge-rushing depth behind Young and Michael Hoecht. Khalil Mack could provide that solution."

Are Rams 'Headed on the Right Track'?

Mack was fourth in the NFL in sacks this past season with 17, and that helped him tally up an impressive 21 tackles for loss, just two behind his career high.

If the Rams were to add a talent like Mack to the defense, he would be another guy that the young guys could look to for guidance. His veteran presence and leadership would be an intriguing fit for the Rams and could push them over the edge.
