Los Angeles Rams vs. Packers: QB Dresser Winn Roster Move, How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Rams head to Green Bay to take on the Packers at Lambeau Field as both teams attempt to break recent slumps. In the "something's gotta give" category, the Packers haven't scored a first-half touchdown in their last five games, and the Rams gave up four such scores in their last game.
Green Bay has lost its last four games, while Los Angeles has dropped two in a row, and three of its last four. Falling behind early does not bode well for either team this season, as the Rams trailed Dallas 33-9 at the half while the Packers have scored more than 24 points total just once, in the season-opening 38-20 win at Chicago. Green Bay has totaled just 40 points in its last three contests.
“I think that game, we started fast. ... I think that’s what we’ve got to get back to – just starting the game fast and being able to put up points on that first drive, second drive,” said Packers quarterback Jordan Love. “It’ll be a snowball effect after that because I think once we get rolling, everybody is making plays and we’re a tough offense to stop.”
The Rams have quarterback issues after Matthew Stafford sprained the thumb on his throwing hand against Dallas, preventing him from practicing this week. Rams coach Sean McVay hasn't ruled Stafford out for Sunday, though.
“It’s one of those deals that you give him up until right before the game,” McVay said. “You use all the time necessary for a player like him.”
If Stafford can't go, Brett Rypien would get the nod. Along with that, the Rams on Saturday promoted QB Dresser Winn from their practice squad to their active roster to provide depth.
