Low NFLPA Scores 'Not A Huge Concern' To Rams

The Los Angeles Rams and general manager Les Snead are not concerned with their low scores on their NFLPA report cards.

The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) released its yearly player satisfaction report cards on Wednesday, and according to the scores, the Los Angeles Rams have a lot to improve on. 

In terms of player satisfaction the Rams grades ranked 25th in the NFL in locker room, 28th in weight room, 28th in training room, and 29th in food and cafeteria options - all with scores of C- or worse from the players. 

But despite those low scores, Rams general manager Les Snead is not concerned with what the franchise has to offer. Instead, he is focused on the team's culture and plans for the future.

"It’s probably not a huge concern. I know we have some long-term plans and vision," Snead said. "When that time comes, we’ll probably get better marks. There is a side that some of us here really appreciate because our culture is a lot about keeping football the main thing.”

All that said, it has been a point of discussion between Snead and other Rams executives.

After all, player happiness is of paramount importance in terms of success both on the field and in the locker room with the culture. 

But at the end of the day, Snead believes that - while the 'bells and whistles certainly help - treating players with respect is the most important thing to a franchise.

“We did discuss it,” Snead said. “I don’t know if some of that is facilities. I know last year traffic getting to and from games, things like that… I would say big picture, we’ve always at the end of the day tried to treat player family, No. 1 with respect, obviously if we got dinged we might be missing out on some bells and whistles but I think at the core, we definitely want to treat everyone with respect.”

This offseason, the Rams will finally have the cap space - nearly $40 million of it - to compete on the open market in free agency for the first time in quite some time. 

In other words, we will find out one way or another this spring if what the Rams lack in terms of facilities and amenities will come back to bite them or not.
