Super Bowl 'Stress'? Kelly Stafford Reveal: 'Miserable' Matthew's Wife Weighed Only 90 Pounds in Rams Season
LAS VEGAS - The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs are here in Las Vegas for Sunday's Super Bowl, and this is supposed to be fun - as it surely was for the 2021 Los Angeles Rams as they won their title led by quarterback Matthew Stafford.
But as a sidebar issue and as part of the aftermath? Stafford and his teammates were involved in trying to repeat ... and Matthew's wife Kelly is now saying she got so involved in the process that she became constantly physically ill due to the stress of it all.
“I felt like I was so nervous that Super Bowl year (2022) for Matthew. Every game I couldn’t hold anything down,” Kelly said on a recent edition of her "The Morning After" podcast. “I was miserable. I was miserable. I think I weighed 90 pounds."
Kelly Stafford had previously revealed that she threw up on the day of Super Bowl LVI, presumably from the aforementioned stress.
There were and are indeed "pressures'' on the players who participate in this game, and maybe Kelly Stafford's comments and experiences are meant to help guide family members who are about to go through it this week, at the highest level in American sports.
There are of course non-football factors that can cause distractions and stress; see Patrick Mahomes Sr. - the father of the Chiefs star QB - making headlines again due to another DWI charge - but there are also ways to cope with it all. ... or at least, there should be.
Because this is supposed to be fun.
