Baltimore LB Patrick Queen Holds Ravens to 'High Standard,' Even After a Win
The Baltimore Ravens went 2-0 against the division rival Cincinnati Bengals in this year's regular season series after picking up a 34-20 win at home on Thursday night.
That's all well and good, but even after a 14-point win, Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen was not fully pleased with his performance or that of his team following the game. In particular, he referenced a score from Cincinnati before halftime that frustrated him heading into the locker room.
"That one screen play that they hit, I had a chance to make a tackle, and I missed that tackle," Queen said. "That's why I was frustrated. Just hold myself to a high standard. I call myself having my brothers' back, and I didn't have it that play."
The Ravens (8-3) suffered a heartbreaking loss to another division foe in the Cleveland Browns last week, and they had a quick turnaround to get ready for Cincinnati on Thursday night. With the game well in hand, Baltimore allowed a touchdown drive from the Bengals with about a minute left to play, and even though there was no real comeback attempt from Cincy, that drive didn't meet Baltimore's standard of play.
"It's tough," Queen said. "We know the standard that is held here, and we want to obtain that. We didn't do that on that last drive. It's just something we've got to go back to work on. We've all got each other's back, and when you've got a team like this, I think you're capable of doing those things."
Ravens Beat Bengals In Injury-Filled Game
Still, it's hard to complain too much after a win within the confines of the AFC North, and having knocked off a talented Bengals team twice this season is a nice feather in the Ravens' cap moving forward.
"It means a lot," Queen said. "They had a lot of stuff to talk and put that to bed. Still a long season and might have to play them again, so definitely got to keep working. But it definitely feels good."
