Sad or Funny? LOOK: Antonio Brown 'Excited to Return to NFL' ... With Ravens?
The Baltimore Ravens have vastly improved their roster over the past few weeks with the addition of wideout Odell Beckham Jr., the extension of quarterback Lamar Jackson, and the drafting of Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers Thursday night in Round 1 of the NFL Draft.
But are they adding yet another offensive weapon?
On Friday, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown tweeted that he is joining the Baltimore Ravens.
"Excited to return to the NFL this year #RavensFlock," Brown announced on Twitter. The tweet also shows Brown wearing a Ravens uniform with No. 84.
There appears to be zero validity to this claim, as the team or the league has yet to make any comment regarding Brown joining Baltimore.
Brown, 34, has not played in the NFL since 2021 when he famously walked off the field in the middle of a game while undressing, as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was released shortly thereafter.
More recently, Brown has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, mostly related to his partial ownership of a National Arena Football team, the Albany Empire, as well as legal battles. A warrant for Brown's arrest was recently issued for his failure to pay $30,000 in child support.
At this point, it would seem far-fetched that any team, including the Baltimore Ravens, would have any interest in signing him. And it leads to a question about whether AB's post is meant to be funny ... or if it's just sad.
