Ravens Contract Details for WR Nelson Agholor Revealed
The Baltimore Ravens announced Sunday evening that the team came to terms on a one-year extension with slot receiver Nelson Agholor.
And now, we have the details.
Per 33rdTeam, the Ravens have signed Agholor to a one-year, $3.75 million deal, keeping him in Baltimore before he hit the open market on March 13.
Agholor, 30, caught 35 passes in his first season with the Ravens, for 381 yards and four touchdowns. He's done most of his damage through his career from the slot and provides some necessary depth at the position for Baltimore.
A former first-round pick out of USC, Agholor has bounced around in his nine-year NFL journey. Originally selected by the Eagles, he struggled to gain consistent footing in the NFL despite a strong postseason run in 2017-18, and a strong 2018-19 campaign.
Despite past troubles with drops, Agholor did record the highest catch percentage of his career with Baltimore last season. He caught three passes for 51 yards and a score in the Ravens' postseason run to the AFC Championship game.
Ravens Rival Steelers' Turmoil at QB Continues
This is not expected to be the only receiving addition the Ravens make this offseason. Baltimore has to make a contract decision regarding Odell Beckham Jr., and could very well be searching for another rookie in the draft to pair with their other first-round pick, Zay Flowers.
Adding Agholor back to the room though brings a stable veteran with experience to help the passing attack with two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson at quarterback.
