Mason Rudolph vs. Kenny Pickett: Ravens Rival Steelers' Turmoil at QB Continues
While the Baltimore Ravens are in free agency and NFL Draft mode heading into this offseason, the AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves with some quarterback drama.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote that there is some turmoil happening this offseason in the quarterback room for the Steelers. "There appears to be some internal division that maybe Mason Rudolph should be the starter," the Post-Gazette wrote.
And to make that turmoil worse, the paper wrote that the team "is not interested in bringing in a quarterback who wants to be a starter."
That contradicts what team owner Art Rooney II stated earlier this month.
"Well, you know, as we sit here early February, we're not closing the door on anything," Rooney II said. "We have a lot of evaluations to go through and we'll go through all the options and do what we need to do to be better this coming season."
Then to confuse matters for fans, NBC Sports' Peter King says this is a terrible mistake on the part of the Steelers.
"Come again? In a division with Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson, the Steelers would actually choose to enter camp with Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph (should he sign in free agency with Pittsburgh)," King writes. "That sounds like a colossal misjudgment of your quarterback position."

Both quarterbacks have shown an inability to be a franchise quarterback.
And as King stated, it's a highly competitive division with regard to quarterbacks. Can Rudolph or Pickett compete with Burrow, Jackson and Watson? That's a question the Steelers are going to have to answer.
