Investigation Into Ravens WR Zay Flowers 'Suspended' Without Charges
Per a report from The Baltimore Banner, Baltimore County Police have "suspended" an investigation into Baltimore Ravens receiver Zay Flowers without assessing criminal charges, effectively closing the inquiry.
An investigation into Flowers opened on Feb. 10, when police received a 911 call near Flowers' home in Owings Mills in January. Documents obtained by The Banner revealed a woman reported a domestic incident to police in Acton, MA involving an NFL player and his brother in Owings Mills and that the sibling had drawn a firearm.
Baltimore County police later contacted the filer, who said there were "no further issues" and did not elaborate on the report given to Action.
“(The woman) explained that she was very hesitant to give much information due to the high-profile status of the other party involved,” according to the report obtained by The Banner. "During the assault, she stated that she called 911 and was crying when they answered. She told the communications officer that she was okay and hung up.”
The documents from the Baltimore County police mentioned making contact with what was assumed to be Flowers' attorney but were told that the client “would not avail himself at this time in reference to this report," leading to the closing of the investigation on Feb. 16.
Ravens BREAKING: WR Zay Flowers Reportedly Investigated for Alleged Domestic Assault
While Acton police did not release any documents in observance of state law involving domestic incidents, they did acknowledge a report of events in Owings Mills. In response to calls from The Banner, Baltimore police declared that "any statement that confirms Zay Flowers as a suspect is inaccurate.”
