Ravens Draft: Todd Monken Former Pupil WR in First Round?
The Baltimore Ravens are expected to add at least one wide receiver this offseason through either the draft or free agency. It's unlikely Odell Beckham Jr. will be re-signed after a lackluster season that cost the team $16 million dollars.
One possibility in April's NFL Draft is a player familiar to offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
Georgia Bulldogs wideout Ladd McConkey was part of one of the best college football teams of all time, winning back-to-back national championships with Monken as the offensive coordinator.
McConkey indicated he would be excited about reuniting with Monken in Baltimore, calling him a "great coach" and thanking him for giving him a chance in Georgia's offense.
"He was a great coach," McConkey said at the Combine this week. "He did a lot for me and gave me a chance that second year and we won two nattys together. So it was a special time and being able to reunite with him would be cool.
"He's a great coach and a great person and they had a really good season last year as well."

McConkey is considered to be a slot receiver at the next level because of his size and route-running prowess. And the Ravens could use a guy like that. And if he ends up in Baltimore, he could have a head start over other rookies because of his familiarity with Monken and his offense.
He's probably a reach at No. 30 but if he's around with the Ravens' second pick at No. 62, he could be a possibility.
