Ravens and G Kevin Zeitler Reportedly Discussing New Contract

As he approaches free agency in March, the Ravens and guard Kevin Zeitler might reach a contract agreement before that happens.
In this story:

Ravens standout guard Kevin Zeitler will become a free agent on March 13 unless he and Baltimore can reach a new contract agreement. Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta indicated that they'd like to keep Zietler around, "He's been a Pro Bowler. This is his first year, but in my mind, he's been a Pro Bowler."

Now in his 12th season overall, and finishing his third in Baltimore, Zeitler is one of the oldest starting offensive linemen. Yet he's playing at maybe the highest level of his career.

The Athletic reports that DeCosta and Zeitler are currently in contract talks.

Pro Football Focus has graded Zeitler as a top-15 player at his position in all three seasons with the Ravens, and in 2023, PFF had him marked as the second-best guard in pass protection.

Zeitler indicated last offseason he'd like to remain in Baltimore, then proceeded to have one of the best seasons in his long career in a contract season. And he did it by only missing two games this season, and just four over the past three years.

Ravens Trade and Free Agency Rumors: Madubuike, OBJ, Agholor, Dobbins

The Ravens will also have to make a decision on fellow guard John Simpson, who will enter free agency as well. If Zeitler does hit free agency, he'll likely be the most sought-after guard on the market in a market full of guards.
