3 Value Free Agents That Make Sense For Ravens' Offseason Plan
With just over $5 million in cap space going into the 2024 offseason, pickings are slim for the Baltimore Ravens to bring in high-priced talent to finally take them over the hump in a dominant AFC.
Luckily for the organization, there are plenty of high-value players that should fit well in the plan Baltimore needs to put forth next season to stay in championship contention.
Today, we go through the three names that make the most sense from a value standpoint here.
RB Derrick Henry
Is the former 2,000 rushing-yard leader going to get a top free-agent contract at 30 years old and over 2,000 touches? Of course not.
Henry's best days are behind him which makes the former Titan an obvious value-signing for some of these contending teams. Baltimore could potentially lose Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins this offseason so the need for a running back will certainly be there.
Can the Ravens get the last bit of good football out of a future Hall-of-Fame payer like Henry? The way they run their offense, it's certainly possible.
WR Kendrick Bourne
Value, value, value. When it comes to Bourne's value as a wide receiver, he's the kind of player that could make a team very happy this offseason.
He has some injury concerns coming off an ACL tear in 2023, but he's a proven pass catcher who has a penchant for getting open. This is the kind of player that may still be available after April's draft but could come at a discounted price.
It's hard not to like the type of game Bourne plays in the slot, and it's something the Ravens could absolutely use to their advantage.
Ravens Free Agency Rumor: Bucs All-Pro WR to Baltimore?
OL Dalton Risner
Kevin Zeitler could walk in free agency this year so bringing in quality starters along the offensive line makes a lot of sense for Baltimore.
Risner has plenty of starting experience (70 starts) and is still 28 years old. This is the kind of player that the Ravens could get that is cheaper than their previous option, but can still play at a high level. Risner has shown to play well in a similar system to Todd Monken so there is a thought to going the younger and cheaper route here along the offensive line.
