'Business is Business!' Ravens' Justin Madubuike One of 23 Pending Free Agents for Baltimore
The Baltimore Ravens fell short of their Super Bowl goal this past season, and several players are hoping to run it back and try again.
But the Ravens have 23 players whose futures are in question in Baltimore because of expiring contracts. Some of those players are important pieces of the offense and defense, including linebacker Patrick Queen, defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, guard Kevin Zeitler, quarterback Tyler Huntley and running back Gus Edwards.
Possibly the biggest name on that list is Madubuike, who is coming off a career season at the most opportune time. Madubuike would like to return to Baltimore, but knows that's somewhat out of his control.
“In terms of Baltimore, man, that’s home,” Madubuike told NFL.com at Friday’s Pro Bowl practice. “But, you know, business is business, and that side is going to take care of itself.”
The former Texas A&M Aggie registered 13 sacks this season and went 11 straight games with at least a half sack, tying the longest streak for a defensive tackle since the stat became official in 1982.
NFL Mock Draft: Ravens Select Justin Madubuike Replacement?
Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta was recently asked about some pending free agents.
“It’s beneficial to just not talk about things,” DeCosta said. “There is a value sometimes to not really showing your cards or showing your hand. We’ll have all those decisions made at some point coming soon. We don’t have a lot of time.”
