Ravens Edwards On Bengals - 'It's Going To Be A Physical Game'
Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards talked up their upcoming game against their division rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals.
"They're a team that knows us and we know them," Edwards said. "We're very aware of each other. I know it's going to be a physical game. The crowd is going to be in it, everybody's going to be in it. It's early on in the season but it's a big game and we're going to treat it like that."
Edwards joined the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers University in 2018. Over five seasons, he has recorded 2,617 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.
After J.K. Dobbins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during Baltimore's Week 1 game against the Texans, Edwards is expected to step into the starting role against Cincinnati.
The Bengals and Ravens have a historic rivalry in the AFC North. Baltimore has a slight advantage in the rivalry, having won 28 regular season and playoff games to Cincinnati's 27.
In their most recent matchup, the two teams saw each other in the AFC Wild Card game last season. The Bengals had the edge due to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missing the game due to injury. Cincinnati won 24-17 on a Sam Hubbard 98-yard fumble return touchdown.
The two clubs are expected to be in the running for the AFC North division crown at the end of the season, so Sunday's matchup has major importance for both teams.
Jackson will be healthy and ready to go when the Ravens take on Joe Burrow and the Bengals on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in Cincinnati.
