In the Baltimore Ravens' 25-9 win over the Houston Texans in Week 1, the injury situation for Baltimore was a black eye on the victory. Cornerback Marcus Williams went out early in the game to be evaluated for a shoulder, then just before halftime, Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins left the sideline with assistance on his way to the locker room.

As reported by Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, and then confirmed by Ravens coach John Harbaugh after the game, Dobbins has torn his Achilles and will miss the rest of the season.

The Ravens' room is once again short, which has become the new normal in Baltimore after experiencing injury issues at the position for the last three seasons.

Dobbins missed all of 2021 and nine games in 2022 due to injury, and now he'll miss the remaining 16 games of 2023. The Ravens went to Gus Edwards and Justice Hill for the remainder of the game. Hill went on to score two rushing touchdowns.

The Ravens also had Melvin Gordon in camp late in the offseason and preseason, so he may be getting a phone call in the coming hours.

Another option for the Ravens might be Colts RB Jonathan Taylor. Taylor is on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List, and he is seeking a trade after failing to reach a contract extension with the team. Perhaps the Ravens could be interested in filling Dobbins' void in the backfield with Taylor.

There are options, and the Ravens need to figure it out sooner rather than later. They face division rival Cincinnati next week, and the Bengals could be out for blood after a Week 1 loss to the Browns.
