Odell Beckham Jr., Jimmie Ward Injury Updates For Ravens vs. Texans
The Baltimore Ravens will be without at least three players in their season opener against the Houston Texans.
The team announced Friday that cornerback Marlon Humphrey will not play with a foot injury, but wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be good to go Sunday after being limited in practice Thursday with an ankle issue. He was a full participant on Friday.
Tight end Mark Andrews, who led the Ravens with 73 receptions for 847 yards and five touchdowns last season, is questionable with a quadricep injury. He has been limited in practice each of the last three days.
Tackle Ronnie Stanley has overcome an ankle injury, has been a full participant in practice Thursday and Friday, and will play against the Texans.
The Ravens aren't the only team out of the water, as Houston has been bitten by the injury bug as well.
Linebacker Blake Cashman and wide receiver John Metchie III will miss Week 1 against the Ravens with a hamstring injury, while safety Jimmie Ward will not play with a hip injury. None of the three practiced from Wednesday to Friday.
Ward's hip issue is not regarded as a long-term issue, according to KPRC's Aaron Wilson. In Ward's place, safety Eric Murray, who recorded 27 tackles in 17 games as a backup last season, is expected to play a majority of the snaps.
Metchie has yet to make his NFL debut after missing his rookie season after being diagnosed with leukemia.
Running back Dare Ogunbowale is listed as questionable also with a hamstring injury as he was limited in practice from Wednesday to Friday.
Linebacker Christian Harris, who was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday with a shoulder injury was a full participant Friday. Harris being able to go takes the strain off the Texans' linebacker room with Cashman unavailable.
Baltimore hosts Houston on Sunday at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
