Baltimore Ravens' Jadeveon Clowney's Hard Work Is Paying Off This Season
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is in the midst of a career resurgence with the Baltimore Ravens as they make a push for the Super Bowl, and he could not be happier with where he is at.
"My hard work is finally paying off and I'm happy to be here in Baltimore doing it right now," Clowney said. "I'm just glad to be here, 30 years old, Year 10, doing the things I still love to do and achieving goals I set up for myself. I'm excited to go to a Super Bowl and looking forward to this opportunity. I want to play my best football in January. I want to keep the ball rolling."
This season, Clowney has tallied 39 tackles, 18 quarterback hits, 8.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss and five passes defended. He has also recorded a career-high in pressures with 69, five more than his previous best.
Clowney is also fifth in pass rush win rate off the edge this year behind Micah Parsons, Myles Garrett, Will Anderson Jr. and T.J. Watt. Not bad company for a player who was not invited to the Pro Bowl.
One of the most impressive things about Clowney's season has been his sustained health. After struggling with injuries for much of his career, he played in all 16 of Baltimore's games, helping them to clinch the one seed in the AFC and a 13-3 record. It was just the second time in his 10 years in the NFL that he's played in 16 games in a season.

If Clowney plays in the last game of the season on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against the Pittsburgh Steelers, it will be a new career-high in games played for the 30-year-old.
