Blast From Championships Past: Ravens Bring Back Greatest Players Ahead of AFC Title Game vs. Chiefs
When in doubt, just call your franchise's best.
That's what the Baltimore Ravens are doing Sunday before their AFC Championship game showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. Former franchise stars Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Jonathan Ogden will be a part of the pregame festivities Sunday.
Lewis and Reed - easily two of the best defensive players in NFL history, let alone Ravens history, will be the "Legends of the Game" while Ogden, arguably the best left tackle in league history, will serve as an honorary captain.
Baltimore advanced to the AFC championship game with a 34-10 win over the Houston Texans last weekend. Sunday's home contest will be the first championship game hosted by the franchise in history. It's the first conference championship the city of Baltimore has seen since the Colts resided there in 1971.
The Ravens will try to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 2012 - a year that saw Ogden, Reed, and Lewis all win the franchise's second title. Ogden and Lewis were around for both championship wins (they won the 2000 Super Bowl).
Outside of the football stars returning to the field, Baltimore's own Michael Phelps, the greatest swimmer in history, will deliver the game ball. A halftime show done by T-Pain will seemingly close out the festivities.

In short, Baltimore is pulling out all the stops to try and get back to the Super Bowl and stop the apparent dynasty of the Chiefs in their tracks.
Baltimore and Kansas City kick off the AFC Title game at 3:00 pm - ET Sunday.
