'I'm Good' Says Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson After Ankle Scare vs. Cincinnati Bengals
In a 34-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson gave fans everywhere a scare when he went down with an ankle injury near the end of the first quarter.
Despite the injury, Jackson finished the game 16-for-26 for 264 yards and two touchdowns while adding 54 rushing yards with his legs. He insisted after the game that his ankle wouldn't be a problem.
"I'm good," Jackson said. "We need to stop talking about this ankle, I'm good. You see I just walked up here, I'm good. We ain't going to talk nothing into existence, speak nothing into existence, I'm good."
This season, Jackson has been playing at an MVP-caliber level most weeks and has led Baltimore to an 8-3 record. On the year, he has thrown for 2,441 yards and 12 touchdowns with just five interceptions and has also run for 535 yards and five touchdowns.
Jackson's ankle injury wasn't the only one for the Ravens on Thursday Night Football. On the first drive of the game, tight end Mark Andrews caught a pass in the red zone for nine yards before being tackled by a Bengals defender. Andrews immediately grabbed for his ankle after the tackle, eventually limping off the field. After the game, it was revealed that his ankle injury would be season-ending.

Before the season started, Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract extension with the Ravens on draft night after a long and tense negotiating process. It's understandable why Baltimore fans would be so nervous seeing their franchise quarterback coming up hobbled after a big hit, but Jackson cleared the air about his status for Week 12 after the game.
"I'm feeling good," Jackson said. "Coach gave us a few days off, extra days off, so I'll be good for the Chargers."
The Ravens will head to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers on Nov. 26 at 8:20 p.m. for Sunday Night Football.
