Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson made history with his legs on Sunday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers

On the first play of a third-quarter drive, Jackson tucked the ball and ran for an 8-yard gain. That rush put him at 5,005 career rushing yards, cementing his place in NFL history.

Jackson became the fastest quarterback to ever reach 5,000 yards, doing so in just 82 career games. The next fastest quarterbacks were Michael Vick in 104 games, Cam Newton in 129 games and Russell Wilson in 175 games.

The Ravens quarterback currently sits at fourth all-time in career rushing yards by a quarterback behind the three quarterbacks mentioned earlier. It's only a matter of time before Jackson unseats Vick, who has 6,109 career rushing yards, as the NFL's all-time rushing leader at the quarterback position.

In addition to his 5,005 rushing yards, Jackson has recorded 29 career rushing touchdowns.

Since Baltimore drafted Jackson with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, he has been one of the most versatile quarterbacks in the league. In 2019, his first full season as a starting quarterback, he won the NFL MVP unanimously.

His 1,206 rushing yards set the record for the most by a quarterback in a single season in NFL history.
