Lamar Jackson Wants Ravens to Finish Season 'The Right Way' After Clinching No. 1 Seed

The Baltimore Ravens clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC but Lamar Jackson wants his team to finish strong with a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18.

The Baltimore Ravens handled their business to a tee against the Miami Dolphins. Knowing that a win would secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Ravens took the Dolphins to task in a devastating way to the tune of a 56-19 win.

Lamar Jackson shut the door on the MVP conversation as he tossed five touchdowns while completing 18 of his 21 passes for 321 yards as he torched the Miami secondary.

But with all that the Ravens secured after the win over the Dolphins, Jackson is still using an old football mantra as he looks ahead to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18.

“We still have a lot to get going on you know we got to finish this season the right way,” Jackson said. “We had one obstacle [Miami] we finished that obstacle, we got Steelers next week so that's how I'm staying focused this season, just taking it one game at a time like I've been preaching all season.”

The game against the Steelers now means nothing for the Ravens and as such, several starters could be rested.

One of those could be Jackson, who has missed the last couple of postseason trips due to injury. Pittsburgh has already defeated Baltimore this season and will be looking to make it a clean sweep.

Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh hasn't made a decision on who will or won't play against the Steelers, but for Jackson the message is clear.

“We the number one seed, we just got to finish this season.”

In a meaningless game, against a division rival on the road, the Ravens still intend to go into Acrisure Stadium and win their 14th game of the year.

Whether or not Jackson or other starters take their place is unknown, but the desire to finish the season the "right" way is clearly high in the building, however, we imagine that it won't take precedence over having the right players available for the playoffs.
