'Trying To Give Them A Win Already?!' Lamar Jackson Pokes Fun At Baltimore Ravens Reporter Over Detroit Lions Record

A Baltimore Ravens reporter said the Detroit Lions were 6-1 and Lamar Jackson was having none of it.
In this story:

You won't catch Lamar Jackson slipping when it comes to anything related to the Baltimore Ravens' upcoming opponent, the Detroit Lions.

A reporter asked Jackson about the Lions and said their record is 6-1 when they're actually 5-1.

"They 6-1?' Jackson asked.

The reporter corrected themself, but the damage was already done and Jackson playfully quipped back at them over their mistake.

"Trying to give them a win already?" Jackson said. "Damn."

Detroit (5-1) has been one of the best teams in football to begin the season and is riding a four-game winning streak. During that run, they've beaten each team by at least 14 points.

Offensively, the Lions are fourth in points per game (28) and third in yards per game (383.7). The passing game has buoyed their offensive attack, as they average 259.5 yards per game.

Detriot quarterback Jared Goff has been playing like a potential MVP candidate, as he's completed 69.5 percent of his passes, thrown for 1,618 yards and has 11 touchdowns compared to just three interceptions.

Detroit will face a stiff test in a Baltimore (4-2) defense that's tied for the league lead in sacks (24), second in yards allowed per game (260.8) and fourth in points allowed per game (15.4).

For as good as the Lions' offense has been, their defense has stepped up tremendously compared to a unit that was 28th in points allowed per game (25.1) last season. Thus far they're ninth in points allowed per game (18.8) and have been on a roll since their 37-31 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in overtime on Sept. 17. Detroit's defense has only allowed an average of 14 points per game in its last four outings.

"We've got to go into M&T Bank Stadium ready," Jackson said. "It's going to be a great game, I believe. Great defense [and] great offense they have over there as well. We've just got to be prepared."

The last meeting between the two teams came on Sept. 26, 2021, when Justin Tucker kicked a game-winning 66-yard field goal to give Baltimore a 19-17 win over Detroit at Ford Field.

To this day, the game-winning field goal by Tucker is the longest kick made in NFL history.

Now, they'll meet again just over two years later as two of the best teams in the NFL. The Ravens host the Lions on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
