Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Is 'Grateful' For Defense After Win
Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson made it clear how much he appreciates his defense after a 20-10 road win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
"Our defense was playing lights out all night, and we wasn't doing what we usually do and putting points on the board for those guys," Jackson said. "I'm grateful we have a great defense cause without them, who knows how this game would have went."
The Ravens defense held the Chargers to just 10 points, the fifth-time this season that they have held an opponent to 10 points or less. Baltimore already had one of the top statistical defenses in the NFL, but its resume was only boosted by its performance on Sunday Night.
Opponents are now scoring a measly 15.6 points per game against the Ravens, the second-best mark in the NFL behind the San Francisco 49ers at 15.5. They allowed 279 yards of total offense to Los Angeles which is slightly above their average of 273.9, also second-best in the NFL.
Baltimore forced four takeaways in the game, three fumbles and an interception, but were only able to score three points off of the turnovers. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert faced pressure all game, with the Ravens getting home three times to add to their league-leading 47 sacks.
Jackson and the offense didn't have the best performance, but they did enough to get the job done. Rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers in particular accounted for both of Baltimore's touchdowns in the game.

At 9-3, the Ravens sit atop the AFC heading into their bye week. They will be taking some hard-earned rest in Week 13 while watching to see if any of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs or Miami Dolphins will move into a tie for first place.
