Ravens Offseason 'Could Help Return' Team to Offensive Prominence

At least one NFL.com writer believes the Baltimore Ravens are a top 10 team after a "darned good April for the franchise."
In this story:

If you want to see the impact quarterback Lamar Jackson makes on the Baltimore Ravens' roster just go back and look at the outlook for the team before and after he inked his new deal to stay with the franchise.

Simply put, without Jackson the Ravens were thrust into rebuild mode without a clear-cut path to forging their new identity. With him, Baltimore is a top 10 team according to NFL.com's recent ranking of the most complete rosters in the league.

"The Ravens' fortunes changed dramatically with Lamar Jackson's new contract. If you lump in the signing of Odell Beckham Jr., along with a typically sound Ravens draft class, it was a darned good April for the franchise," says NFL.com. "Jackson and a reimagined receiver room, along with a new offensive coordinator, could help return the Ravens to prominence on that side of the ball."

One year after seemingly doing everything in their power to throw as much offensive weight onto Jackson's shoulders as possible, they not only paid him but finally gave him more weapons than tight end Mark Andrews to work with.

Beckham was on his way to a Super Bowl MVP Award when he tore his ACL in his final game as a member of the Los Angeles Rams and all reports point towards his being healthy and capable of bringing some pop to the offense.

Meanwhile, the addition of rookie receiver Zay Flowers will hopefully complement the return of Rashod Bateman to the receiver room giving Jackson three solid options to go along with his top-shelf tight end.

The addition of receiver Nelson Agholor looks like a strong fourth man in the rotation as well, and running backs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and Justice Hill is certainly a good group if they can stay healthy.

It finally looks like Jackson has received what he deserved from Baltimore for years now by getting paid and a loaded stock of weapons.

All that's left now is for the Ravens' 7th-most complete roster to come together and for their quarterback to drive them to the top of the NFL.
