'I Want Another Trophy!' Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Isn't Focused on MVP Hype

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is more focused on a Super Bowl run than his own MVP campaign.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is no stranger to personal accolades, but he has his mind set on the ultimate team achievement this season.

Since helping pilot his team to the mark of being the current No. 1 seed in the AFC, Jackson has found himself in the NFL's MVP conversation, and rightfully so. The quarterback has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards and 16 touchdowns paired with six interceptions, and the Ravens have a 10-3 record as a result.

Jackson won the MVP award in the 2019 season after leading Baltimore to a 14-2 record and the top seed in the AFC, but that year did not end in a Super Bowl appearance, a game that he has never played in.

If Jackson has anything to say about that this season, that trend will end, MVP or not.

“It’s an honor just being acknowledged — to be [in the] conversation with great guys,” Jackson said this week. “But I’m just trying to stay locked in trying to win, because I want another trophy.”

There's a lot on the line late this season for Lamar. He can potentially win the MVP honor, but he has to help fend off other threats to the AFC's top seed, all while making sure the Ravens simply take care of business on the field as the regular season concludes.

Sound stressful? Not to him.

"I like playing football, so it really doesn't matter," Jackson said. "I'm going to have fun."

Baltimore Ravens Ready For 'Playoff Like' Environment In Final Four Games

The Ravens are coming off a heart-stopping 37-31 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, and they return to action this week on "Sunday Night Football" on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on NBC.
