'Focused On Monday Night!' Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Unfazed by Super Bowl Talk
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson isn't thinking about the fact that their upcoming game against the San Francisco 49ers could be a possible Super Bowl preview.
"The Super Bowl is in February, we're in December right now," Jackson said. "We've got to focus on Monday night, you know. I'm not worried about what people say."
The Ravens currently sit in first place in the AFC with an 11-3 record, tied for the best in the NFL. The team they are tied with is the 49ers, who are atop the NFC.
Jackson has been the driving force behind Baltimore's offensive success this season. The 26-year-old quarterback has thrown for 3,105 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 741 yards and five touchdowns.
Statistically, the Ravens' defense has been one of the best, if not the best, in the NFL this season. Through 14 games, they are allowing just 16.1 points per game to opponents and have held teams to 10 or less points in six of those games.
Baltimore has allowed a touchdown on just 18 of 160 drives by opposing teams which is 11.3 percent. That's tops in the NFL, with the league average being 20 percent.
Ravens Matchup With 49ers on Monday Will Make History
The second-best scoring defense is claimed by the 49ers, and they just happen to be the team that Baltimore will be facing on Christmas Night. San Francisco allows 16.7 points per game to opponents. The game will also feature three of the top five MVP candidates according to FanDuel Sportsbook in Brock Purdy at -200, Jackson at +500 and Christian McCaffery at +1200.
The Ravens and 49ers will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Christmas Night from Levi's Stadium in San Francisco.
