Ravens’ Mark Andrews Saves Woman’s Life in Airplane Emergency
Ravens tight end Mark Andrews and his team were bounced from the postseason in a 17-10 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. With a full offseason ahead of him, Andrews was flying home to the Phoenix area from Baltimore for the summer.
During the flight, a woman suffered a medical emergency and was displaying a very faint pulse and medical personnel tending to her on the plane didn't seem to have an answer as to what was causing the episode.
The woman's blood pressure was extremely low and she was requiring oxygen to breathe.
Andrews, who is a type 1 diabetic, was reported to have jumped out of his seat and said, "Could it be her blood sugar? I have a diabetic testing kit." Andrews offered his kit and medical personnel on the flight were able to stabilize the woman until the plane landed and paramedics were able to treat her properly.
Three Needs For Ravens In Important 2024 Offseason
One man on the plane took to social media to describe the entire incident and said it was "genuinely scary."
"Andrews deplaned quietly. No fanfare. As he has done his whole career, he stepped up in a huge moment when people needed him most. Watching complete strangers spring into action to help save someone's life is truly amazing."
