Draft Rumors: Who Are Ravens 'In the Market' For?

Boston College receiver Zay Flowers has been connected to the Baltimore Ravens throughout the pre-draft process - and could have it come full circle as Baltimore is reportedly targeting a wideout in the first round.

The Baltimore Ravens are just two days away from being on the clock at No. 22 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.

With quarterback Lamar Jackson seemingly in solid position to return, Baltimore's been able to shift more of its focus towards adding pieces around the former MVP winner.

The signing of veteran wideout Odell Beckham Jr. was a step in the right direction ... but the Ravens are still looking for more.

According to SI's Albert Breer, Baltimore has been heavily tipped to draft a receiver on Thursday night - with one player ascending carrying particular intrigue.

"A good number of rival teams believe that Baltimore will be in the receiver market at No. 22, with Odell Beckham on a one-year deal, and Rashod Bateman coming back from foot surgery," Breer writes. "If they do, a burner could be in order, with Boston College’s Zay Flowers a potentially interesting fit."

This past season, the 5-9, 182-pound Flowers broke the single-season Boston College record in touchdown receptions (12), tied the mark in receptions (78) and finished third in receiving yards (1,077).

Flowers, 22, was named the best player in the New England region and a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award given annually to the top wideout in college football.

The Ravens have been a popular landing spot for Flowers in mock drafts, and NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah believes the two sides are a seamless fit, thanks in part to Baltimore's potent rushing offense spearheaded by Jackson.

"I think complementing that with speed is always the way to go," said Jeremiah. "Where you can hit a slant and somebody can go; you just have to break one tackle where you can get on top of coverage because you have flat safeties because they have to come down and play the run. So, I'm always going to lean towards guys that can really go.

"The suddenness there I think would be a fun player to match up in that offense."

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has spoken at length about his team's difficulties adding wideouts, but it's possible that Flowers could just be the player that bucks the trend.

The answer won't be in until Thursday night, but for now, Flowers is certainly an "interesting" candidate to keep an eye on for Baltimore.
