Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. played a huge part in the team's offensive success down the last stretch of the regular season, but he almost didn't sign there this offseason.

"My heart desired to be in New York again," Beckham Jr. said via the Punch Line Podcast. "To be in New York again, whether there's marketing money, the Jets, I even had the number picked out. I'm DMing the punter or whoever it was at the time like 'Hey let me buy that off you.' I'm setting stones like this is where I'm going. And they just kind of slow played the offer, they just kind of thought that they had it in the bag, that they were the best team and it would be a privilege for me to be over there. I think it's that quote, 'Go where you're celebrated, not tolerated.'"

When Beckham Jr. signed with the Ravens, it was reported that they made him their best offer to make sure he wouldn't take his scheduled visit that he had planned with the New York Jets.

He ended up signing a one-year, $15 million contract with Baltimore, the largest single-season contract the organization has ever given to a wide receiver.

This season, Beckham Jr. caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns while helping the Ravens reach the best record in the NFL at 13-4.
