Odell Beckham Jr. Reflects on Ravens Debut - 'I Felt The Love!'

Odell Beckham Jr. made his Baltimore Ravens debut on Sunday, and he revealed that he loved every minute of it.
In this story:

The Baltimore Ravens took care of business against the Houston Texans as they got their season off to a winning start...and it was also the first time we got to see Odell Beckham Jr. in the offense.

After the long, arduous road back after his ACL injury, just getting to a point where Odell could feel comfortable to be able to play is significant.

Playing in the home confines of M&T Bank Stadium, Beckham Jr. loved the reception he got from the home crowd.

"It felt amazing," Beckham Jr. said on his warm reception from fans. "I felt the love, and that's what I want to give back to this place," Beckham said. "I want to give my everything.

"I'm going to play like it's my last – like this is my last route I can run, my last pass I could catch. I want to give that effort to this place – this organization. So, it's truly special to be able to go out there and win, and I'm happy."

Beckham Jr.'s afternoon didn't set the league alight as he only caught two passes for 37 yards, but his return to the field was so much more than just two receptions (although one was a superb 29-yard catch). It was another stepping stone on the long road back to being the All-Pro receiver we know he can be.

Sunday was also the first chance to see Todd Monken's offense go against proper NFL defenses and while the 25-9 scoreline looks, at face value, like the Ravens had things their own way, the performance overall was rather clunky - something we expect in a Week 1 outing.

Despite getting the win to kickstart the Ravens' season, Beckham Jr. knows that there is still plenty of room for growth.

"We're going to go watch the film, and I don't think too many people are going to be happy," Beckham said. "There were a lot of little mistakes and a lot of things that in a bigger game another team might take advantage of. So, there are a lot of things we need to do. We'll get back to the drawing board. But it's still (nice) to be able to see the 'W' in an ugly win. There are a lot of things we can improve on. I'm excited about that."

Naturally, things will take time to develop in a new scheme as the wrinkles get ironed out. With multiple playmakers for Lamar Jackson to utilize, it will only be a matter of time before this Ravens offense is clicking on all cylinders.

The first game is in the books for Baltimore, and attention now turns to the Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Burrow on Sunday and Beckham Jr.'s second game as a Raven.
