Ravens Offense 'Coming Together' Under OC Todd Monken
The Baltimore Ravens offense is adjusting to life under Todd Monken and his new scheme. With more of an emphasis on being more of an aerial threat, naturally, with the Ravens being a predominantly run-style offense, the change will take time to get used to.
But as Baltimore works its way through training camp, how is the offense under Monken looking? In short, head coach John Harbaugh likes what he has seen.
“I think the offense is coming together,” Harbaugh said. “You can travel far if you travel together, and they’re doing a good job of that. I feel like we have made some big strides on offense the last few days.”
With Lamar Jackson given the keys to the offense and being able to run things his way, many are bullish on what the Ravens can accomplish this season.
Of course, Lamar has a host of weapons in Rashod Bateman, Nelson Agholor, Zay Flowers, Odell Beckham Jr., and All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews.
Agholor, a free agent signing, has started life as a Raven in good form at training camp, and his coach has taken notice.
“He’s a pro, Nelson knows how to play,” Harbaugh said. “He’s a big, rangy receiver, he runs routes really well, he’s a hard worker, knows what he’s doing. I’m sure glad we have him.”
So things are moving along nicely for the Ravens offense, and with Agholor and others putting their best foot forward in training camp, the expectations on what this offense can do are trending in the right direction.
Lamar and the offense are starting to gel together and get things figured out, and while it is only early in preseason, it could spell trouble for opposing defenses when the regular season rolls around.
