Ravens Offense is 'Loaded!' Says Former NFL GM

The Ravens added two key offensive pieces in Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers to give Lamar Jackson a star-studded group, with former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum liking Baltimore's business.

The Baltimore Ravens have gone from being an unknown quantity next season to the envy of the NFL just weeks later.

After Lamar Jackson's contract saga finally ended and with Odell Beckham Jr. and draftee Zay Flowers joining the Ravens' offense is now extremely explosive.

Former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum likes what the Ravens have done offensively this offseason and thinks Baltimore has set themselves up for a better season than last year.

"Boy, this team is loaded," Tannenbaum said on ESPN's GetUp. "What an offseason, starting with Nelson Agholor, obviously getting OBJ, and then drafting Zay Flowers out of BC (Boston College), who I think is going to be outstanding.

"Add in Todd Monken as offensive coordinator, hopefully, Rashod Bateman returns to full health. They should have a really good season."

The Ravens' offense ranked 19th for points per game last season (20.6), and with tight end Mark Andrews the only consistent threat, Baltimore was often forced to run the ball rather than throw it once Jackson went down injured.

But now?

Boasting one of the best tight ends in the NFL in Andrews, coupled with Beckham Jr., Flowers, and the returning Bateman (who averaged second-highest yards per game with 47.5 behind Andrews), Baltimore has some serious firepower.

Just three times last season, the Ravens' offense surpassed 25 points in a game (all three Lamar started), and with the new offensive help, we imagine Baltimore putting up points for fun next season.

There is still a lot of unknown as well, though. Will Beckham Jr. be able to stay healthy, how will Flowers integrate into the NFL system, and will Bateman return to the level Ravens know he can be?

Those questions will be answered in due time, but there can be no mistake that if everything runs smoothly offensively, Baltimore is poised for a deep playoff run next season.
