Ravens RB Battle: Justice Hill Flashes vs. Eagles

The Baltimore Ravens were in action against the Philadelphia Eagles with Justice Hill reminding everyone of exactly what he can bring to Todd Monken's offense.

The Baltimore Ravens have tasted their first bit of preseason football and with plenty of storylines to follow, one has perhaps been lost.

With J.K. Dobbins still on the PUP list, Gus Edwards was the starter against the Philadelphia Eagles. Edwards totaled 21 rushing yards on four carries, but it was what his partner in crime showcased that might have Ravens fans relaxed about the running back position.

Keep in mind that yes it is preseason, but during these games, sometimes its make-or-break for a player's career, and in Justice Hill's case, he showed a flash of his talent that might make John Harbaugh think he can be the third running back on the roster.

Hill would finish his night's work with 48 yards on three carries, but 37 of them came off one superb run. It should also be mentioned that Hill has had a good camp in the absence of Dobbins too.

The fourth-year running back took the hand-off from Josh Johnson and initially ran into trouble. But Hill used his quick feet and lightning speed to bounce to the outside and raced away from Eagles defenders to the tune of a 37-yard run.

Of course, there are others who will be looking to stake their claim with Melvin Gordon and rookie Keaton Mitchell also vying for snaps.

But it was Hill who jumped off the screen and put the Ravens into great field position with his bursting run.

For a player who only has 547 rushing yards and two touchdowns in his three seasons, Hill needs to make every opportunity count and in his limited action against the Eagles, he did just that.
