Jadeveon Clowney ‘A Perfect Fit’ With Ravens
Jadeveon Clowney has been a member of the Baltimore Ravens for less than a week, but he's already making good impressions.
"He already fits the room perfect," Ravens defensive tackles Travis Jones said. "He's a good guy, open book, if you ask him anything he's gonna tell you the truth. It's gonna be fun this year having him on the team."
Baltimore signed Clowney on Friday to a one-year, $2.5 million deal that could reach up to $6 million. He had played the previous two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, and before that, was with the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks for a year each.
Clowney came into the league as a can't-miss prospect, getting drafted No. 1 overall by the Houston Texans in the 2014 NFL Draft. He accumulated 29 sacks in his five years in Houston, and has 43 total sacks in his career.
The Ravens offered Clowney a contract when he visited on Aug. 8, but he didn't sign then. He also took a visit with the Jacksonville Jaguars later that week, and eventually settled on Baltimore as his landing spot.
He will be playing alongside Jones, who the Ravens selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Connecticut. Jones played in 15 games for Baltimore last season, starting in three.
