Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson 'Never Dreamed' He Would Play in London
If you're a child who grows up playing football, you probably expect all of your games to be played in the United States. For the participants in the NFL International Series, however, playing on foreign soil is a real experience.
The Baltimore Ravens will play in London this week when they face the Tennessee Titans, and quarterback Lamar Jackson is excited about the opportunity. In his mind, he is helping expand football's footprint to other parts of the globe.
"Man, it means a lot," Jackson said. "NFL football to be going global? It's amazing, and for me to have fans in London, I never dreamed about that. That's amazing to me."
The Ravens are coming off a disappointing loss to the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers that saw the offense only put up 10 points. Baltimore is accustomed to stronger offensive performances, but Jackson feels that his team is moving in the right direction. It just takes putting it all together.
"I believe we're headed to the right track," Jackson said. "Each and every week, we've had explosive plays, but we haven't been consistent. That's the biggest emphasis for us right now."
Can Jackson and the offense find that groove this week in the United Kingdom? That's the goal with five weeks of the NFL season now in the rearview mirror.
The Ravens currently hold a 3-2 record, and they will look to get back in the win column this week against Tennessee. Kickoff in London is slated for 9:30 a.m. ET, and the game will be televised on NFL Network.
