Ravens Injury Update: WR Rashod Bateman Ready for Minicamp?

The Baltimore Ravens wideout had foot surgery in 2022, and the team is taking its time with the recovery.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman missed 11 games during his 2022 sophomore campaign due to foot surgery, and the young receiver is still being held out of minicamp, according to NBC Sports.

“I’m not expecting Bate to a part of it,” John Harbaugh said in a video from the team. “Right now, he had a shot for healing purposes, so that will keep him out for a couple of days. We just decided to let him just keep rehabbing and make sure he’s ready to go for training camp.”

Bateman did undergo a cortisone shot in his foot this week, intended to relieve swelling and pain. And while the 23-year-old has participated in some team activities, getting back on the field is still weeks away.

A 2021 first-round draft pick out of Minnesota, Bateman has played just 18 games in two seasons with Baltimore. In that span, though, he's tallied a healthy 800 yards and three touchdowns on 61 receptions.

In his six games played in 2022, he boasted 19 yards per reception on the 15 passes he hauled in.

Bateman is battling for targets this fall against the likes of Odell Beckham Jr., Zay Flowers, Nelson Agholor, Devin Duvernay and Mark Andrews. Lamar Jackson will have plenty of targets to throw to.

That said, the organization has no need to rush Bateman along, and his being 100% is imperative considering he's missed time in consecutive seasons with ailments.

Bateman started five of his six games last season, and all hints point to the job still being his, barring further health concerns.
