'Free Crabcakes!' Baltimore Restaurant Recruits Free Agent RB Derrick Henry for Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens are the favorite to land soon-to-be free-agent running back Derrick Henry.
Likely gone are running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards - their No. 1 and No. 2 backs from last season. Because of their philosophy of "running back by committee" over the past few seasons, the Ravens have only had one back post a 1,000-yard season since quarterback Lamar Jackson arrived in 2018.
NBC Sports Bet lists the Ravens as the favorites to sign Henry at +200, and its not the only one that thinks he'd be a good fit for Baltimore.
ESPN NFL analyst and former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III took to social media to say Henry belongs in Baltimore, and a local eatery agreed.
"Wholeheartedly agree with @RGIII on this match made in Smashmouth Heaven. In fact, we’ll offer @KingHenry_2 free crabcakes for life if he signs with The @Ravens! #CrabcakesAndFootball" Jimmy's Famous Seafood posted on X.
Ravens Remain Silent About Justin Madubuike and Franchise Tag
It may not make a difference to Henry, who will most likely sign quite a lucrative contract in terms of dollars, but the offer can't hurt.
Henry's decision might come down to dollars and an opportunity to win now. The Ravens probably offer a good chance of the latter, but the former could be an issue.
